Cities You Must Visit in Asia

Asian cities are something extraordinary. Not that they have a lot of landmarks but the chaotic traffic in a millions of people metropole is just something you have to experience once in your lifetime. Asians cities are most often the starting point of a journey across the country or continent and a first encounter on a completely new culture. Here are a few Asian cities we think are worth visiting.

Beijing, China

Beijing is combination of history and modernity. It is home to some of China’s finest remnants of the Imperial past. This includes the Ming Tombs, the Forbidden City and The Great Wall. Another highlight of the Chinese capital is the Tiananmen square, world’s largest city square. Beijing is not only a gateway to the rest of China but also is the economical centre of a country booming on world level.

Hanoi, Vietnam

The Vietnamese capital is different than any other Asian city. It has a charming flair and has cultural influences from both the French and the Chinese. Still, it retains its own authentic Vietnam lifetstyle. The city has had a turbulent past and is now making up for it. Streets are dominated by racing scooters vying for the right of way. Hanoi has plenty to see. From the French Quarter to the Old Quarter. From tree-lined boulevards, and beautiful lakes.

Seminyak, Indonesia

No, Seminyak is not the place to be if you’re looking for the typical Asian capital city experience. The Indonesian city is home to the most incredible beaches in Bali and is famous for the legendary sunsets. The stretches of sand give the city an exotic flair. The laid-back atmosphere just adds to this heavenly setting.

Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok most probably is the most visited city in Asia. It blends the old and the new perfectly. Golden palaces, floating markets and cheap street food are only a few reasons why you should visit Bangkok. A trip to Bangkok is an encounter with a typical Asian capital. Chaotic, polluted and temperatures rising above 30 degrees easily. It is often referred to as the Venice of the East because of the many canals that are dividing the city.

Shangai, China

Shangai may be even worse than Beijing if traffic is your measurement. The city never sleeps and is even bigger than the Chinese capital. With a vibrant nightlife you’ll have no trouble finding an open bar or club in the early hours of the morning. Shangai is China’s most prosperous city and the greatest economical center on the whole continent.

Yangon, Myanmar

If you think about a city that has significant signature of old and new, east and west, then Yangon is such a rendesvous. The city is home to one of the biggest pagodas in Asia, numerous British colonial architect and fast developing high tech buildings. A Yangon City Tour will reveal you how exotic the Chinese-Burmese foods, how to enjoy Burmese high tea and much more.

Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo is a city where tradition collides with pop culture. Karaoke bars are around every corner and maybe even more numerous than ancient temples. A visit to Tokyo is often described as journey into the future. Modernization is all around you when wandering through the streets. With extremely friendly people, and the cleanest places, the city is best described in superlatives. No city will feel more otherworldly than Tokyo.
