Hsipaw Travel Guide

Lying on the road from Mandalay to Lashio, Hsipaw is a friendly town filled with local markets and you can visit minority villages within a day's walk.  
Hsipaw`s glory dated back to the time when it was established as the Shan Royal Palace. These days, you still can find its signature through the ancient palace and the first Shan prince tomb. There are also awe inspiring paya covered with vines and grass scattering along the mountains of Hsipaw.

Those who love venturing into the wild and the remoteness of Burma will be captivated by the picturesque landscapes along the Dutawaddy River as well the mountain peaks. Within few km walking from the town, you will access a massive waterfall, offering chance to swim at its nature pool. 
Another experience that makes your stay more relaxing is the natural hot water.

From Mandalay, local buses operates daily at 6.00 and 14.00pm and it takes 6 hours to reach the town. Private car can be arranged for those who love to photograph the magnificent landscapes along the road.
If you travel by air from Mandalay, you can also take the flight to Lashio then embark on a 4 hour scenic road journey to arrive in Hsipaw town.
