Laos - Myanmar : Wan Pong checkpoint in Tachilek
India - Myanmar border checkpoint: Tamu - Moreh border 
China - Myanmar gate : Ruili - Muse

Please note the border between Myanmar and Bangladesh and other checkpoints not mentioned above are not authorized for caravan travel ( update in Nov 2018 )
 

Document Requirements for Myanmar Caravan Travel

To ensure your travel goes smoothly, make sure you prepare well these documents :

For travelers/ drivers :

- A solid visa is essential. Since 2018, many border checkpoints allows Evisa or known as Pre-arranged visa on arrival. You can apply for a visa through Myanmar Embassy but if you really in a short time, obtain a visa online because there is an option for 1 day.
- You need to convert your international driving license to a permanent Myanmar driving license. A legal local tour operator can help you to do this.

For your vehicle : 

- All the information relating to your vehicle including technical numbers, colors, etc must be registered at Myanmar Tourism Ministry. 
- You are requested to provide the itinerary that you will take with specific dates when you register your drive in Myanmar.
- A caravan tour needs a leader/ tour guide as well to complete all the papers.

Can foreigners drive can in Myanmar?

The answer is yes in certain situations. The Myanmar law allows foreigners to drive a car/ vehicle in Myanmar only when they registered their trip with Myanmar Tourism Board. The journey should have a fixed itinerary and we strictly follow the routes mentioned in the itinerary.
It is necessary to have a pilot who is normally a tour guide or transportation expert who can guide you on the road. 

Can I use an international driving license in Myanmar?

Your driving license must be converted into a Burmese driving license. Please keep in mind that the document for driving, it mentions the validity, very often it is valuable only at the time you are in Myanmar for the tour. You are not able to use this driving license another time unless you do the paper again. 

Can I drive my own car in Myanmar?

You can drive your car in Myanmar if you have all the documents mentioned above including the converted driving license, registration of your car with all technical information, and travel plan. 
There is only exception is for diplomatics who have their own vehicles to travel inside the country.
