Bagan Lacquer Ware

According to the history, Lacquer work started in Bagan in 11th century along with the flourishment of Bagan Dynasty. This traditional work is now highlighted by many different workshop where you can observe all the process of making a product from preparing the bamboo, painting, drawing to colorizing. 
The lacquer work in Bagan differs from other places in the work by its evolution design, shape and sizes. They features the authentic village life as well imperial furnitures. 
Nowaday, Bagan lacquer houses are included in almost all Bagan Tours.

Palm Sugar Distillation

Like Cambodia, Bagan enriches its land by endless palm forest. Bagan people have archieved their own technique to collect the juice - the best part of this tree to make their own sugar. It would be very interesting for a day trip from Bagan to Mt. Popa as you stop by a village like Zee O, watching the toddy-palm climber access to tree top, harvesting the wine and distill the juice. Do not forget to taste the sugar and its variation !

Shwe Pathein Umbrella

Originated from Pathein, a beautiful beach town in south Myanmar, this traditional work now is represented in Bagan with similar demonstration. Artisan will show you how they craft a big umbrella from bamboo in the most typical way like they do in Pathein.
The whole procedure is very photogenic as the umbrellas wears so different colors.
