Sandoway Resort opened its doors the first time in 1999 at a time when the shores of Ngapali Beach were still undiscovered.
The resort is nestled amongst coconut palms on the pristine beach front where its 59 villas and cottages are scattered throughout the 6 acres of 450 meters long beach frontage and tropical gardens, most with ocean views.
The resort's design concept is based on traditional South East Asia elegance, which is beautifully displayed thanks to the usage of local materials of various kinds of hard wood, stone carving and marble.
The hotel interiors have been decorated with furnishings and fittings that were designed and produced exclusively for The Sandoway Resort.
Every component and material is harmoniously combined into what the Sandoway is today: a destination where each architectural detail embodies the charisma of the land of Myanmar and its employees bring to life the magic of the Resort's concept with the natural kindness that differentiates them.

Hotel room

Villa
The 19 Sandoway Villas romantically stand in our Resort most exclusive setting, offering the guests ultimate privacy and comfort.
Our 11 Beach Front Villas lay with their interior gardens in the upfront beach location overlooking the bay.
Within a spacious 120sqm, the Villa's open interior seamlessly blends the bedroom and living space, ultimately opening onto a private verandah facing the sea and sunset. A spiral stairway leads to Villa's upper level where a private loft with a beautiful picture window showcases the serene views of the garden and the sea.
Our 8 Sea View Villas offer all the same  unique interior features and comforts as the Beach Front Villas and are located in the second row. However they are strategically positioned among the Front Villas in order to ensure the sea view.

Cottages
The 15 Sandoway Cottages are graciously scattered among the natural Resort's surroundings while stretching their elegant two stories design in the total proximity to the beach.
Our 5 Beach Front Cottages overlook the coastal shores at the very front location allowing the guests to witness a spectacular view from the open verandah while being pampered by the cool sea breeze.
With their 80 sqm interior space developed over two floors the Beach Front Cottages are another example of graceful design in total harmony with the environment: the ground level living area tastefully decorated with lounge divan, writing desk and chair with direct access to the verandah and beach. A sky light sunroof brings the natural sunlight into the spacious bathroom while the bedroom on the upper floor takes of the cool night breeze that waft off the waters of the Bay of Bengal.
A wooden framed picture window showcases the serene views of the sea and the garden, creating a peaceful space for relaxation.
Our 80 sqm 10 Village Cottages feature the same beautiful design concept and comforts as the Beach Front Cottages and located at  just behind the Beach Front Cottage.
The peaceful green surroundings and the cozy design feel make of the Village Cottages the perfect choice for a comfortable and tranquil stay.

Deluxe room
Our 75 sqm 25 Deluxe Rooms stretch themselves from the Spa to the Pool area, surrounded by those enchanting tropical gardens that frame the Resort's renowned beauty.
Elegantly built with hardwood interiors like the Cottages, the design varies from 7 Deluxe Rooms built on one floor and 18 on two stories, where the graciously decorated living room lays on the ground floor together with the spacious bathroom and the elegant bedroom stands on the upper floor overlooking the marvelous gardens and just behind the Village Cottage.

Our International Restaurant specializes in local seafood – freshly caught lobsters, prawns and fish bought directly from the fishing boats each morning. Guest Chefs from Europe are invited throughout the season  to cater to your individual desires and to create culinary masterpieces using the best of fresh local products. The lounge bar located on the open verandah over looks the beach and is the perfect spot for sunset drinks or pre-dinner cocktails watching the stars come out in the night sky against the reflected twinkling of the shimmering ocean.

The Sandoway Spa softly rises in a romantic corner of the Resort surrounded by a tropical water pond and waterfalls.
Constructed as a stand alone wooden building nestled in our sumptuous green garden and  featuring four treatment rooms and two separate gazebos dedicated to shampoo service and foot massage, the Spa guarantees the guests the perfect atmosphere to pamper themselves with ultimate relaxation offered by the experience of our therapists and the selection of our treatments including:

Located in a magnificent beach front setting and stretching itself all along the Bar outdoor verandah, our Pool has always been one of the favorite guests' relaxation area thanks to its proximity to the sea and its attractive set up that offers comfortable pool beds discretely located on the elegant wooden deck.
The pool develops over three different water levels and although it doesn't have a separate children area it does make it accessible to everyone to indulge in its cooling clear waters: from the lower to the higher lever the pool is designed for both children and adults.

Considered an architectural pride of the Resort, the Sandoway Library proudly stands on the upper floor of the Pool Bar and Terrace.
Situated in a key location that overlooks our Pool on one side and widely opens in the front on a breathtaking sea view with its chill out terrace and cushions, the Library embodies refined design at its best: from the magnificent wooden columns entirely carved by an artist in Mandalay, to the bamboo decorations representing the historical tattoos on the Chin women faces, to the powerful ceiling and its decorated valances.
All these unique components contribute to create a unique space in the coast of Ngapali where the guests can venture among the many books left by other visitors or simply indulge themselves with a cocktail from the bar while enjoying the tranquil and charming setting that this magnificent Library offers.

Discretely located nearby the Resort's entrance, the Sandoway Cinema is an emblem of mastered handcrafts and tasteful design details where 58 comfortable seats are faced with a state of the art screen and sound system which guarantee the guests the most enjoyable vision of international news and movies.
Built to provide our guests with an alternative service that would compensate the Resort's conceptual choice not to have a TV in the rooms, our cinema now represents one of the architectural masterpieces of the entire property: with its carved wooden door and windows and the rich ceiling displaying two sumptuous handmade “Naga”, the legendary Burmese dragon, the cinema becomes the ideal venue for those who would need to reconnect to the outer world with a comfortable yet contemporary entertainment.
