Local Celebration of Inle Festival

According to local people, on the festive days, 5 Buddha images will be transferred from one village to another on a very remarkable barge.The barge represents the holy Karaweik bird like in Royal Lake - Yangon and decorated with flowers, dedicaties. Music and dancers will escort the main barge with their own boats. 
It takes up to 18 days to complete the round while 4 images really travel and one remains at Phang Daw Oo pagoda. 
For visitor, Phang Daw Oo is more famous for its name of Jumping Cat, however on these days the pagoda becomes very crowded with Buddhism Pilgrimage and celebrations. 
Another highlight of this festival is its rowing competition when Inthar fishermen using their one-leg technique to push their boat as fast as possible. Competion happens with 100 rowers and single rowers as well.
