A visit to the Tham Kong Lo Cave is one of the main reasons for a once in a lifetime trip to Laos. This limestone cave, 7km long and 90m high is hidden deep in the wilderness of central Laos. Its home to a variety of bats and bird-eating spiders. With the help of the boatman’s headlamp and your torch, hop in a boat and navigate the vast river passage in almost complete darkness. Inclusive of the tour, you also get to descend halfway and explore the lit stalactite forest.

Touring Vieng Xai’s bomb-shelter caves

Vieng Xai caves are acknowledged as Lao’s monumental historical sites and the only place to witness the signs of the country’s Wartimes. Over 20000 people lived here during the Vietnam War to escape perpetual bombings. In a network of 450 caves different hospitals, markets and even a theatre were built. A tour around reveals how life was during those days of War.

Cycling in Luang Namtha Luang

Namtha is an attractive city in northern Laos. It has no shortage of natural wonders. Many of which are best seen on bicycle. Cycling around the city is beyond meeting locals and experiencing less accessed parts, to taking a gentle path through the imposing rice paddles with sweeping views, and mountain biking up the peaks. Several local operators in the city are offering bicycles for rent at affordable prices.
 

Trekking to remote Katang villages

Hiking to the Katang villages of Dong Phu Vieng National protected area is often inspirational for seekers of local experience. Trekkers stay with Katang villagers after a day walking through the sacred forest. Experience the way of life these villagers live which seem to be different from that of other population in the country. Katang villagers believe strongly in spirits and visitors are locally taught how to avoid problems (taboo behavior).
