Myanmar Arts

Myanmar is famous for 10 traditional art called as “Ten Flowers”.

Pan be (the art of blacksmith)
The iron is tempered into the furnace to make the necessary items 
(Ox cart, axle, scissors, adze, knife etc.)
During Began period (11th century AD), traditional blacksmith craft were emerged and were improved in the mid Bagan Ava and yadanapon period. Military armor, weapons file, pickaxe, mattock hoe, sword etc. are the famous blacksmith craft. 

Panbu (art of sculpture)
The panbu is an art in which figures and floral designs are made from ivory or wood. These figures are those of humans, animals or floral designs. Famous traditional sculptures of Myanmar include; Wood sculptures, stone sculpture and plaster sculpture. Knife or a chisel is used to make wooden figures by the artisans. 
This art wasn’t emerged until the Began period but a great improvement was made in the middle of began ava. This art was highly influenced by the Buddhism that’s why the ancient carved wooden gables; caves and beautiful ornamentation are still enhancing the beauty of temples and palaces

Pantain (the art of silver and gold)
Working with gold and silver is known as pantain. Bowls, prize cup, belts and shields are the items made from silver while earrings and earplugs etc. are made of gold. For the making of these items the artisans pass through different steps like filling, soldering, sawing, forging, casting and other. 
This art existed in Myanmar for the past one thousand and two hundred years ago. This was introduced in Myanmar when Mons migrated here.

Pan taut (floral design using masory)
Pan taut was practiced in Myanmar before Began period and it kept improving Began Ava, Yadanapon and Amarapura period. Pan taut refers to the art in which floral designs on walls or handicrafts with stucco are made by the artisans. Detailed floral designs, lion and floral figures made from stucco brightened the beauty of Myanmar
Stucco carving of mid konbaung or Amarapura period is the most beautiful attraction representing the pan taut art. Curled leaves buds and detailed flowers give eye-catching view.

Pantin (the art of bronze casting)
This art consists of the material produced of brass, bronze or copper.Brass bowl for monk. Copper pots, weights in the shape of brainy ducks,
Tray where the items made from it. Bells in every pagoda of Myanmar Were used to tell the good deed to the people 

Panyan (the art of bricklaying and masonry)
The art of constructing the buildings (brick houses, pagoda bridges) by using bricks, cement and stones. The most developed period among all the historical periods was Myanmar’s traditional masonry of Bagan period. During the pyu period masonry in Myanmar was emerged

Pantamault (the art of sculpting with stone)
This art is known as stone carving. Artisans at that time used to make Buddha, elephant and deer images on pillar.yagon and madalay have many sculpture studios. Life of Buddha is shown through beautiful work of art in stones

  Panpoot (the art of turning designs on the lathe)
 Crafting wooden utensils turning on turners lathe is known as panpoot. It includes making bead and table legs or railings etc.in 8th century AD this art was emerged. Turner is considered really interesting.
      
Panchi (the art of painting)
Illustrating living animals and inanimate objects with the help of different colors. Usually the artist painted humans, objects, scenery designs and cartoons. Lots of colorful paintings of Konbaung period are still present but there are few paintings of Ava period. Folding books (purapaik) and canvas were used for painting during Yadanapon period.

 Panyun (the art of making lacquer ware)
Art of making handicrafts (bowl, vessels, cup, boxes etc) from bamboo is called Panyun.this art emerged in early part of Bagan Period.
Myanmar traditional lacquerware emerged in the early part of Bagan period. Stories of Buddha’s life are expressed by panyun art. 

Beside this other arts of Myanmar including Pottery, mosaic, tapestry, lapidary, lotus textile weaving, gold foil making, silversmith, wooden parquetry, wall painting, silk weaving
