Trek to the Kuang Si Waterfalls
Luang Prabang trip is incomplete without a visit to this picture perfect waterfall. Instead of photographing it like ordinary travelers, you can reserve a special guided trek with local tour operator to ascend to the top of Kuang Sii fall. You will traverse the lush green surroundings to reach the top gets gratified by the amazing views of the stream feeding into the falls and creating some natural pools. The sight of 50 m drop into spectacular azure pools before flowing downstream is simply fascinating. The emerald green pool water is quite tempting to take a plunge.
Climb the Phousi Mountain
For local people, this is a sacred mountain. For us, it is more than just a cultural attraction, it is a perfect viewing point.Literally meaning “sacred hills”, this mountain in the centre of the city, on the peninsula between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, is from where one can enjoy the panoramic views of the city. You may have to climb 355 steps but it will be rewarded by amazing panorama, especially at sunset.

Visit Wat Xieng Thong
If you want to learn about Luang Prabang culture, there is no better place to start than Wat Xieng Thong. Built in 1559-1560 by the Lao King Setthathirath, this is one of the most important of Lao monasteries and a significant monument that symbolizes spirituality, royalty and traditional art. This Wat represents typical Laos art and craft through its carved gilded wooden doors depicting scenes from Buddha's life.Its walls are adorned with intricate mosaics which have a tree of life mural in the centre.

Explore the Royal Palace Museum
History enthusiasts will find this museum fascinating, which was built way back in 1904, during the French colonial era and provides deep insights of Lao history and culture. Like Thingyan festival in Myanmar or water festival in Thailand, Pi Mai is the most exciting event in Laos.
