Veloscenic, France

Virginia, USA

After the conversion of the abandoned rail lines countrywide into recreational trails, the state of Virginia now stands among the best cycling destinations in the USA. It’s recorded with 32 rail trails.
The most notable are the 51km High Bridge Trail(crosses a span of 38m above Appomattox River) along with the 92km New River Trail(negotiates two tunnels, three bridges and 30 trestles). 55km Virginia Creeper Trail is recommended for newcomers: you barely need to pedal: the bike runs slowly downhill from White top to Damascus, then to Abingdon through the Blue Ridge Mountains with its awe-inspiring views.

Lake District, UK

Umbria, Italy

Deciding for Zealand biking route, it starts from Copenhagen’s bright harbourside to coast north towards Helsingr via slipping dunes and old royal hunting grounds. Confederation Trail - Prince Edward Island, Canada

This route favors both hardcore and novice bikers. After the desertion of Prince Edward Island’s railway network in 1989, its tracks were repurposed into 435km of paths open for cycling. Confederation main trail runs for 273km from Tignish to Elmira.
