Pack a toddler’s bag

Kids are known to imitate adults and hence they would also like to have their own travel bag. Their bag can be stuffed with travel pillow, comfy bits and a few toys or books, which they can carry with ease. As a travel companion, ride-on suitcase or backpack or trolley bag comes handy for the kids. Infact it acts as a boredom buster, the light weight luggage keeps kid entertained through the airport. Pack those amazing Snacks

It is always advisable to pack some amazing snacks that the kids can munch. The best tactic on board is to distract the young ones with food. These snacks come handy during take-offs and landings. Also, airplane food on long-haul flights isn’t the most appetizing, so it’s critical to bring an overload of snacks in case the child refuses to eat during meal service. Snacks also help mothers to reward their kids for their “best behaviour”.

Power Up

Today’s young ones mostly remain glued on to electronic devices. Hence, all those electronic gadgets should be fully charged. But then even a fully charged battery won’t last more than a few hours, and not every seat has working in-flight charging capabilities, so packing a backup charger is a very good idea on a long flight.

 Board first, and settle in to play

Take advantage of the airline’s offer to board first and get the young one settled. Once on the plane, it’s time to keep your children happy with all sorts of in-flight kids’ games, books, comforts and distractions. Many of these you’ll want to keep in your own possession to control delivery times, but better to have a starter pack ready to keep everyone happy and occupied for the hour or so for boarding time through to meal service and movies. 

Creative activities are engaging

Kids can remain engaged through certain creative activities like Spirography set, Play Doh, and Wikki Stix set. These all are perfect for kids on a plane: they’re quiet, don’t make a mess, and don’t even require batteries or have parts to fall on the floor, roll under a seat and disappear. The young ones will happily make a creative space out of the flight’s tray table.

Play a game together

Probably the best way to keep your kid engaged as well as distracted from the boredom of long flights. Just two of you can quietly play games like Flip to win Hangman, Memory game, On the go World etc. The young traveller too will be enthused to have you as a gaming partner.

Keep the little ones comfy

An impractically-dressed child is an unhappy child, so get them dressed up in soft, roomy layers that you can take on and off as the flight’s air conditioning demands – pyjamas are probably the best option. It’s worth taking a pillow too, so they can snuggle up in the window seat against the wall, drift off and dream of holidays, and stop worrying about the long flight.

Carry few medicines
